ABSTRACT: As the supply chain becomes more and more integrated, China's display industry has been rapidly growing, and it’s end-products have become more diversified and are continually being advanced. How to ride the tide and win the marketplace by synergy will be discussed.

BIO: Mr. Li Dongsheng is Chairman, CEO, and founder of TCL Corporation and is also Chairman of China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT). In 1982, Mr. Li began his career as an engineer at TTK Home Electronic Appliances, the predecessor of TCL. In 1985, he was appointed General Manager of the newly established joint venture, Telephone Communication Limited, thus creating the TCL brand. In 1993, Mr. Li became the General Manager of TCL Electronics Group. Shortly thereafter, TCL launched its color-TV business and quickly became an industry leader. Mr. Li took the position of Chairman and President of the company in 1996. In 2003, Mr. Li was appointed Chairman of the Board and CEO of TCL Corporation. TCL’s LCD television and mobile-phone sales leaped to 7th place globally by the third quarter of 2011. In 2011, Mr. Li was recognized as a “Chinese Economic Leader” by the website Ifeng and 21st Century Business Herald.  He also received the “Life Achievement Award of the Top 25 Influential Business Leaders” from China Entrepreneur magazine. As of September 2012, TCL Multimedia has shipped over 10 million LCD TVs. TCL Corporation is the top TV brand in China and ranks sixth among the top 100 Chinese brands. It has 29.81 billion yuan ($4.77 billion) in operating revenues and 480 million yuan in net profit.
The Opportunities and Challenges Facing the Display Industry In Byeong Kang

ABSTRACT: The IT environment is leaping into the next generation with faster and better technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G mobile communications, etc. We are seeing new opportunities and potential for the display industry as a result of this change. The opportunities and challenges facing the display industry will be discussed. That being said, this will not be an easy challenge. But, it is our firm belief that if we work together as an industry, we could realize the dream of having major breakthroughs for displays in the near future.

BIO:  Dr. Kang is Chief Technology Officer of LG Display. He obtained a BSEE and MSEE from Hanyang University, prior to starting his career in 1991 as a display engineer. He also obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Univ. of South Australia in 1998 and an MBA from Helsinki University in 2004. Having worked in the display industry for 25 years, he led the IPS technology suitable for high resolution and large size, developing a 100-inch LCD TV and commercializing 84” UHD LCD TV. He has also led the innovation of various display technologies such as FPR 3D, oxide TFT, In cell touch and UV alignment. Dr. Kang was appointed as CTO of LG Display in 2015 and he is leading advanced display technologies, including transmissive, reflective, transparent, flexible and foldable.
On to the Era of Immersive Interactions Brian Krzanich

ABSTRACT: The relentless advances in computing technologies, utilizing the power of Moore’s Law, will be described. How these advances, coupled with remarkable innovations in sensing and display technologies, are transforming computing, communications, and entertainment devices, systems and applications will be discussed. Over the past decades, human-device interactions have morphed from text inputs to graphical user interfaces. Efforts under way at Intel and in the industry to usher in a new era of interactivity, where devices can “see”, “hear”, “feel,” and “understand,” transforming our experiences with the content on displays of all form-factors to be more engaging and immersive, will be explained.

BIO: Brian M. Krzanich was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Intel Corp. and elected a member of the Board of Directors in 2013. Krzanich has progressed through a series of technical and leadership roles at Intel, most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) since January 2012. As COO, his responsibilities included leading an organization more than 50,000 employees spanning Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group, Intel Custom Foundry, supply-chain operations, the NAND Solutions Group, human resources, information technology, and Intel's China strategy. His open-minded approach to problem solving and listening to customers' needs has extended the company's product and technology leadership and created billions of dollars in value for the company. In 2006, he drove a broad transformation of Intel's factories and supply chain, improving factory velocity by more than 60% and doubling customer responsiveness. Krzanich is also involved in advancing the industry's transition to lower cost 450-mm wafer manufacturing through the Global 450 Consortium as well as leading Intel's strategic investment in lithography supplier ASML. Krzanich began his career at Intel in 1982 in New Mexico as a process engineer.
