How SID uses your personal information: this policy covers how SID treats personal information that SID collects and receives, including information related to your past use of SID products and services. SID collects personal information when you register with SID, buy SID products or services, and use SID products or services. SID may also receive personal information from other entities such as other associations or companies, or when you visit SID pages or the pages of certain SID partners. SID may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies. When you register we ask for information such as your name, email address, mailing address, occupation, and industry. When you register with SID, whether as a member or as a prospective event attendee or information recipient, you are not anonymous to us. SID collects information about your transactions with us and with some of our business partners, including information about your use of publications and services that we offer. SID uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients. We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.


SID does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, or under the following circumstances: We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with SID, including providing show attendee information to exhibitors and member information to the Directory of the Display Industry. We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of SID's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law. SID does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view an ad. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.

In accordance with US CANSPAM laws, anyone on SID's mailing list can opt out of our email lists at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any SID email newsletter and/or by contacting office@sid.org, faxing a request to +1 (408) 879-3833, or mailing a request to 1475 S. Bascom #114, Campbell, CA 95008 USA.  Any partner using our mailing list is restricted to using it only for the display-related products or services, usually marketing a co-sponsored event, and must conform to CANSPAM and other applicable laws.
