36.1 Wide-Field-of-View Compressive Light-Field Display Using a Multilayered Architecture and Viewer Tracking Gordon Wetzstein, MIT, Cambridge, MA, USA
ABSTRACT: An extension of these light-field displays is described where the narrow-view cones follow the viewer, creating a wide apparent field of view. By using more efficient optimization and commodity tracking hardware and software, a real-time glasses-free 3D display that offers a 110 x 45° field of view has been demonstrated.
36.2 Dual-Layer Three-Dimensional Display with Enhanced Resolution Na-Young Jo, Inha University, Incheon, South Korea
ABSTRACT: A novel dual-layer three-dimensional display system is proposed. The proposed system consists of two LC panels with a lenticular lens sheet between them. The experimental result shows that the proposed system can present a three-dimensional image without any resolution reduction of a conventional two-view display.
46.2 Plasmonic Hologram Based on Bilayer Metallic Nanowire Gratings Zhi-cheng Ye, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China
ABSTRACT: Holographic images were created with high contrast and low noise by the enhancement of surface plasmon wave guiding effect. The holograms are sensitive to polarization for compatibility with future LCDs and can be reconstructed using white light.
55.1 Motion Artifacts on 240-Hz OLED Stereoscopic 3D Displays Paul Johnson, University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA
ABSTRACT: The visibility of motion artifacts -- judder, motion blur, and edge banding -- on a 240-Hz stereoscopic OLED display has been examined. From psychophysical experiments, the impact of content frame rate, flash number, panel frame rate, and duty cycle were assessed.
