Julie Brown, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer
Universal Display Corporation

    Dr. Brown is Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Universal Display Corporation. Prior to joining UDC in 1998, she was a Research Department Manager at Hughes Research Laboratories where she directed the pilot line production of high-speed Indium Phosphide-based integrated circuits for insertion into advanced airborne radar and satellite communication systems. She is an elected IEEE Fellow, elected SID Fellow, and inductee into the New Jersey High Tech Hall of Fame. She has authored or co-authored over 300 publications and patents in the fields of high speed compound semiconductor devices, microelectro-mechanical systems (MEMs) and organic light emitting devices (OLEDs). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, as well as Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Electrical Engineering/Electrophysics from the University of Southern California.
Candice H. Brown Elliott
CEO
Nouvoyance, Inc.

    Candice Brown Elliott is the Founder and CEO of Nouvoyance Inc., and an internationally recognized leader, entrepreneur, executive, and technologist/inventor in the flat panel display and microelectronic industries with more than 100 U.S. patents. Her 40-year professional career includes key engineering and managerial posts in leading semiconductor firms as well as start-up ventures; and she has founded several technology companies and led industry research consortia programs. She was awarded the Otto Schade Prize in 2014 for her work in developing PenTile subpixel rendering technology for high-resolution color displays. She is also a prolific writer. Ms. Elliott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Psychology from the University of the State of New York.
Heidi Dohse
Vice President, Product Execution
DTI Holdings

    DTI (Disruptive Technology Innovations) Holdings Inc., is pioneering Graphene-enabled scientific application and technology innovation development. DTI has developed and is commercializing life-enhancing products enabling global healthcare delivery, clean transportation and energy, and sustainable food and water production. As the VP of Product Execution, Heidi Dohse is leading DTI’s Health and Life Sciences implementation strategy to deliver accessible and affordable healthcare globally.
    Prior to DTI, Heidi was a Senior Program Manager in charge of the Google Platform Cloud at Google. Her expertise in wearable devices and applications is part of a personal, lifelong quest as heart patient to overcome heart disease. She has served as a product developer, technologist and consultant for leading medical device companies and has helped develop emergency services applications and software. Ms. Dohse holds an Executive Degree from Harvard Medical School, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in art. She is also the founder of Tour de Heart, a virtual charity ride that provides hope and inspiration to heart patients and caregivers.
Laura Rea
Senior Technology Program Manager
United States Air Force

    Laura Rea is a senior Technology Program Manager for the United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Soft Matter Materials Branch. Her current area of responsibility includes development of materials and processes for sensors and components suitable for use in human performance monitoring, supporting enhanced autonomy in military systems. She has been a military technologist for more than 30 years, including a one year detail as a staff member in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Director of Defense Research and Engineering. She holds Master’s degree in materials science as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in materials engineering.
Niaz Abdolrahim
Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science
University of Rochester

    Niaz Abdolrahim is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science.at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. She is experienced in solid mechanics, continuum mechanics, plasticity, crystal plasticity, finite element methods (FEM), molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, Monte carlo (MC) methods, nano-scale metallic composites, thin films, nanoporous materials, multiscale modeling of materials, computational solid mechanics and mathematical modeling. She is a widely published researcher and winner of the 2013 James Clerk Maxwell Young Writers Prize. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University, as well as a Master in Aerospace Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University and a Bachelor of Science from Iran University of Science and Technology.
Rashmi Rao

Moderator

    Rashmi is currently Senior Director, Advanced Engineering, CoC User Experience, responsible for technology and go-to market strategy. She is focused on combining cutting-edge technologies with advanced UX design and human-machine interactions.
    Rashmi has 15+ years of technology and leadership experience and was most recently at Apple, focusing on technology and strategy for iPhones.
    Rashmi has served as Director of Technology at Tandem Launch Technologies, Technology Lead at Qualcomm, and has worked on developing MEMS and nanotechnology-based sensors at GE Global Research Center in New York. Rashmi also worked with Nobel Laureate Dr. Alan MacDiarmid on developing carbon-nanotube-based sensors.
     Rashmi is actively involved in the Society for Information Display (SID). She is the current Technical Program Chair for Display Week Conference 2017; as Chair for the Silicon Valley chapter, she also played a pivotal role in increasing the SID membership base by over 20%.
