SID International Symposium

The four-day Symposium features hundreds of leading display industry papers from around the world in multiple technical sessions. It includes a plenary keynote session, presentations in parallel sessions, a poster session organized around selected topics, and author interview sessions with demo models each afternoon. This year's program consists of six technical tracks of over 70 technical sessions consisting of nearly 400 oral and poster presentations

Short Courses

The Society for Information Display presents 5 tracks of four-hour short courses on Sunday, May 8th. Video and PDF of the tutorials will be available to all participants. Ample time will be provided for questions from the audience. The speakers are leaders in their respective fields and bring an international perspective to information display. The tutorials cover the fundamentals of the topic in greater depth than the Monday Seminars, which tend to be focused more on the state of the art due to the shorter time slot allowed for the seminars.

SID/ICDM Display Metrology Training Course

For the first time in five years, SID is offering a full-day, multi-presenter course dedicated to display metrology. This program will include a look inside the latest Information Display Measurements Standard (IDMS), updated in July 2021 by the International Committee for Display Metrology (ICDM), as well as presentations on new ICDM methods for describing color capability, volume, and gamut; ambient illumination measurements; and various aspects of AR/VR metrology. Note: Those focused on AR/VR may wish to combine morning Short Course 3, Design of Waveguides for Augmented-Reality Displays, with the afternoon Display Metrology session, which focuses on AR/VR.

Seminars

The Monday Seminars present lectures on diverse topics related to electronic information displays and applications. These seminars are tutorial in nature, and an attempt is made to provide information at three levels. First the technical foundations of the topic are discussed, followed by recent technical advances, and ending with projection of future trends. These seminars can benefit both newcomers and experienced professionals. Engineers new to assignments in information display find them especially helpful in getting up to speed quickly. Experienced professionals attend to keep up with recent developments in fields closely related to their specialties. Managers attending the seminars obtain a broad perspective of the display field and a sense of its recent dynamics. Attendees will get full access to video streaming of all 15 presentations including notes.

Exhibition

The SID exhibition of display components and systems is your opportunity to see the latest innovative products from the leading companies in the information display industry. The exhibition opens on Tuesday at 10:30 am and concludes at 2:00 pm on Thursday. Many of the leaders and innovators in the display industry will be represented.

Exhibitors' Forum

Here, exhibitors give 15 minute presentations describing their technologies and products in a symposium-like setting, offering attendees a more complete picture of what is being exhibited. The presentations are organized by subject and will be presented on a predetermined schedule.

SID Business Conference

The SID Business Conference is the display industry’s largest conference devoted to the display market. Organized in conjunction with Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) for the sixth consecutive year, this event takes a supply chain approach to addressing the display market outlook with executives from panel suppliers, brands, equipment suppliers, materials manufacturers, industry analysts and financial analysts. Each session will address current and emerging issues facing the display industry through presentations and panel sessions with participation from industry leaders and market analysts, providing the insights and strategies necessary to navigate the changing global display marketplace. The 2022 event will consist of both onsite and recorded talks and attendees can attend in person or virtually.

I-Zone

The Innovation Zone is a three-day exhibit of pre-commercialization prototypes by graduate students, startups, and labs within large companies. Following SID's mantra of "showing you tomorrow's technology, today," the I-Zone has been a smash hit since its debut in 2012, and 2022 similarly promises to have the exciting prototypes on display. You will have a chance to visit the I-Zone hall and interact with all I-Zone participants.
